Typically, the stone is placed in the mouth before bed. The answer is said to come in dreams during the night. It is associated with the Third Eye or 6th Chakra. It subdues an overactive 3rd Chakra and opens a closed 6th Chakra. 

Moonstone was once called the traveller's stone because it was believed to protect traders and merchants from perils at sea. It helps the wearer mentally. It also assists in taking decisions.
